We write PES version 6 with the PEC block, so the machine shows a thumbnail and the thread colors map to the Brother chart.
Pick 100 × 100 mm for a 4×4 hoop (PE535, PE800 small hoop), 130 × 180 mm for 5×7 (PE800, SE1900).
Copy the .pes file to a USB stick (or the machine's memory over USB), then open it from the embroidery menu.

Will the PES file work on my Brother PE535 / SE600?

Yes. Keep the design inside 100 × 100 mm (4×4 hoop) and copy the .pes file to a USB stick or the machine's memory. Bigger designs are refused by small hoops, so set the width before you download.

Does the PES file keep my colors?

Yes. Each color block is matched to the nearest Brother thread, and the machine shows the color sequence before you start.
